Overview

This project explored a product concept aimed at reducing the risk of repetitive strain injuries (RSI) during computer use.
The device was designed to sit beneath the user’s wrist while working, encouraging a more natural hand position and helping reduce strain caused by prolonged typing and mouse use.
The project focused on researching the causes of RSI and exploring how a simple physical product could support healthier long-term computer habits.

Approach

Research

The project began with research into repetitive strain injuries, including common causes, wrist positioning, and ergonomic recommendations. Interviews and in-person discussions with biokineticists helped inform the ergonomic direction of the concept.

Concept Development

Multiple concept directions were explored to identify a simple form that could naturally guide the wrist into a more ergonomic position during everyday computer use.

Design Outcome

The final concept focused on a form that integrates easily into a typical desk setup while providing subtle ergonomic support.
