Overview

This project involved designing and developing sanitation booths during the Covid-19 pandemic in collaboration with a South African sanitation brand.

The booths were designed for placement in public spaces such as malls, shopping centres, and retail stores, allowing individuals to walk through and be automatically sanitized using a disinfectant mist.
The project focused on creating a practical and scalable solution that could be quickly manufactured and deployed during a period of high demand.

Approach

Local Manufacturing

Due to production restrictions during the pandemic, the booths were designed to be manufactured entirely by local suppliers.

Manufacturing Simplicity

The design prioritised simple fabrication methods and components that could be produced quickly and reliably.

Structural System

Interconnecting framework elements were developed to allow the booths to be easily assembled, transported, and installed while maintaining structural stability.
