Overview
A 3D printer bed scraper reduced to its simplest form, designed for Render Weekly.
A diffused honeycomb internal structure adds visual interest, giving a simple tool its own character.
The concept was driven by keeping manufacture as simple as possible: a die-cast main body paired with straightforward plastic components.
Approach
Design Direction
The form was stripped back to its essentials, letting the honeycomb structure and the RW mark carry the visual identity.
Manufacture
Splitting the scraper into a die-cast body and a separate plastic top plate keeps each part straightforward to produce, with the blade secured by two screws.
